Bottle feeding routine changes

B

Hello, I’ve never posted on here only been here for reading everyone else’s story’s when I have the same issue and checking advice, but now I ask for everyone’s thoughts.... my baby was 7.5weeks premature and is now actually 15 weeks old. Or if you go by his due date he’d be almost 8weeks.

We’ve been in a very stable routine since about 7weeks old of bottles every 4hours:

2am,6am,10am,2pm,6pm,10pm

His intake has increased over the weeks since leaving hospital from 90ml to recently we were on 130ml roughly per feed. Some feeds he’d do 90 others he’d do 130.

Until this week, where he’s now crept up to 165ml. At the same time he’s not drinking a lot on the 2am feed anymore & we have noticed and sometimes the 6am. Maybe 60ml-90ml roughly.

Now the last 3nights I have had to wake him up for his 2am bottle. I waited today to see if he’d wake which he didn’t and I woke him at 2:45am. With these feeds he hasn’t drank a lot again and today just 50ml and he’s soundo.

This is great that he’s sleeping don’t get me wrong and I assume that as he has started to take more in the other feeds it will balance out and be the same quantity in a 24hour period?

So my question is really that I should just let him sleep now and he will wake to tell me he’s hungry but then if this comes at 4am does this mean he won’t want a 6am one anymore and this will be later and so we the next one and the next one, then they all become scattered around? Is it just trial and error and we should just go with it?

Thanks :)
