Can I eat Deli Meat while pregnant?

I’m 4 weeks 4 days and I really want subway for lunch today , my prenatal visit is not until next week so Idk what to and what not to do.

Nowadays you dont get listeria from cold cuts. They’ve changed their handling practices. Its fine. Cold cuts do have nitrates so theyre not the healthiest thing but a sandwich is fine.  Listeria is so incredibly rare, you have better odds of hitting over a million dollars w the lottery than you do of getting it.

You don’t even need to heat it up per my OBs... there hasn’t been a recall in over a decade.  Eat your meat.

I was told it’s okay to eat it if it’s heated up. So if you have it toasted you should be okay. They suggest heating up any deli meat at home till it’s sizzling to kill off bacteria.

I was told not even toasted subs at Subway are good because they don’t heat them enough to kill the listeria. If you’re eating lunch meats/cold cuts, they should be heated to the point where they steam.

I’ve eaten deli meat pretty much my entire pregnancy. My baby & I are still 100% ok. If you’re scared, I would just heat it up.

I’m not sure. But I’ve been having subway turkey sandwich pretty often and I buy smoked turkey thigh cold cuts. I’m 28w and fine. I didn’t know I’m not supposed to eat that till like I was 20 weeks
