Am I wrong??

My fiancé and I live in a small town where we go to college ..My fiancé is from Tyler which is an hour away and im from Houston which is 2 hours away.. My first child is due October 29th .. His parents got the idea of us meeting them in Henderson which is half way so they can take her for weekends or whenever they ask  I do not feel comfortable doing that at least during her first year of life .. My fiancé feels like she should be able to when she turns 3 months .. I believe If she is going anywhere I'm going with her.. I'm not saying that she can't spend the weekend there I'm saying she can't do it without me .. Am I wrong ??

I wouldn't have my baby going away for the weekend without me either! It's all your decision!

I totally agree I was the same with my son an he just turned one on the 16th and everyone of course had something to say but it's your baby so you do as you feel fit !!!

I dont see the big deal ?? Its her grandparents . gives you a little break for a couple days . id be more then happy to do it lol but then again this is my second baby im alot more relaxed then i was with my first . i mean not every weekend but maybe one weekend out of the month or every 2 months . its normal to feel over protective with your first but it will change :)

I'm on my third and my boys have never stayed with anyone, with exception of when I was having my second and my mom stayed at my house. I just don't have the desire to be away from them, even though they can drive me nuts. The family can come over whenever they want or we will go visit others but I find nothing wrong with not wanting to hand them over. But I also ebf.

It depends if you plan to breast feed or bottle feed really. If you breast feed you would likely have to go with her, or pump a lot. It is lovely that they want to give you guys a break, however it is also understandable if you are not ready to be away from her so soon

I wouldn't want to part with my new born especially that young. I will be breast feeding and if you're breast feeding pumping this early on can really throw off your goals for breast feeding as it could set you back enough to actually quit producing enough milk.

No way. Mine didn't stay the night with anyone until at least after 6 months. It was only if I needed a babysitter.

I lived in the same town as my parents and they didn't keep my DD overnight or even more than 1 hour until she was 1 year old.
