Serum blood hcg

Anyone familiar with blood hcg tests. I had one done because we are ttc and I had to have X-rays done, so my doctor wanted to be safe. I'm probably 9dpo maybe 8dpo. The test came back negative... Am I out or is there a chance I could still get a bfp in a few days?
