How quick can it develop?

Question

For the past two days I’ve had none stop swelling from my knees down and in my hands. Today I developed swelling around my eyes. But my BP has been in normal range. Yesterday’s BP was 116/66 today is 123/75. My question is how quickly can preeclampsia develop and is high BP always one of the first symptoms or can it go up after other symptoms have been present?

I was going to my doctor ever 2 weeks. At 30 weeks, all my vitals were perfect. I went in for my 32 week checkup and my blood pressure was spiked, about 146/90, I had swelling, and I had spotty vision. I had to doing urine collection.  And everything came back positive. 
It came on so suddenly. It was mild and peaceful for almost 2 weeks. 
I went in Christmas Eve for one of my twice a week check ups. My blood pressure was reading 168/110
I was then told by my doctor that he was transferring me to a larger hospital with a NICU, because I was told I was gonna have to deliver my baby. Before I had the baby my blood pressure got up to 180/120, I was on magnesium for 4 days. I had to have an emergency c section at 34 weeks. 
After the baby was born, my blood pressure got worse. I was constantly monitored. I was taking several a blood pressure medicine. 
And medicines in my IV to prevent seizures/ strokes. A week later I finally got released and so did baby. We are both healthy and doing well now. That is my experience with preeclampsia. 
It can come on quick and progress fast. If you suspect you have it; talk to your doctor Asap.
