Bf mad at me🙄

So my boyfriend started work at 12 today and I had to go do paperwork for my job at 10. So I was running late and left at like 9:45. Paperwork was only supposed to take an hour but it didn’t. So it’s like 12:10 I get home and my boyfriend gets mad at me because I didn’t wake him up. He doesn’t have a phone since he broke it, and he gets mad at me for not waking him up because I didn’t wake him up before I left. He never told me to wake him up before I leave, it was 9:45 when I left I was in a rush, plus I wanted him to get enough sleep. Am I wrong ? It’s not my responsibility to wake him up for work unless I’m still sitting there and just not telling him to get up then I understand I’m in the wrong.
