Together or not ?

My first child and my second childs birthdays are only a week apart. Should I celebrate them together or separately ( my first is turning 5 and she a girl my secon is a boy and will be turning 1)  if you guys have any ideas I would love to see them ! 💖💙

Definitely separate. People will give more attention to the 1 y/o and it could make your 5 y/o feel like second best ... for an age gap that big I personally would never do a joint party as their interest will likely never match.

I would do separate, especially for his first birthday. Plus with that age gap and different genders I would just get in the habit of doing separate parties. A dinner with family sure you could celebrate both, but actually birthday parties with friends they are going to want very different things.

Separate. Go simple with the 1 year old: family, dinner, cute cupcakes but take tons of pics. Give your 5 year old her own party...you don't want the baby's first party overshadowing her special day. Let her pick the place or theme if you can.

Separate! My younger sister (by 8 years) are 1 day apart mine is the second hers is the third and I hated sharing a birthday with her! And we still have a family birthday dinner together! (She is going to be 16 I’m going to be 24)

My brother and sister’s birthday are one day apart. They are three years apart. I remember only one time when they were young my Mom did a joint party with both set of little friends. My brother and sister did not mind, but it was so chaotic my Mom did seperate ones from then on. She just seperated them by weekend before and after instead of back to back. 
The family party, which was just parents and siblings, was together and they never minded, especially as they had seperate “friend partys” they got to celebrate.
