How do you know you are ready to start a family??

Me and my husband-to-be  have talked about starting a family soon after we are married and I'm just wondering how you know when you are mentally ready to being a child into the world...he wants to start a family soon after we marry bc both of his parents were older when they had him and he doesn't want to seem old to his teenager one day, I completely understand him in this, and I would love to have a child and a family together but I want to know when other mothers or mothers-to-be knew when they were completely ready :)

I asked the same question to my mother who has 4 kids. She told me "Juni, you aren't ever going to be ready. You just roll with the punches and capture the moments"

I do not believe you will ever be truly "ready" You just have to both agree you want children and let it go from there. All will fall into place. Best wishes to you.

Trust me. Unless you're a member of the Duggar (sp?) family I don't believe you're ever ready. Just BD like crazy and have lots of fun! We're working on TTC #2 and one minute I know I'm ready and five minutes later my DD is throwing a tantrum, coloring the walls/Tupperware in permanent marker and covering the dog in crisco all in the time it takes me to go to the bathroom (no, I'm not exaggerating. Wish I was! ?) which makes me think "what am I thinking?! I want another one?!" But at the end of the day once you are pregnant, you start to feel better about it all and just enjoy the process. Haha good luck and congrats on getting married!!

I personally feel like when your really you will know but you also want to make sure financially you can support and afford to raise a child it's easy to say I want a baby but it's not so easy to pay for one that's the only reason my so and I are not yet TTC we need to get our money in order

I suggest asking anyone who's recently had a baby to share the hospital bill with you. My friend said her 2 day stay was 30k! Luckily she has great insurance and it took care of everything.

After you spend some time to grow as husband & wife and can afford one. Also have a daily plan for the Aloha and kanichiwa! Aloha and kanichiwa! shared responsibility of an infant.

Yeah, seriously! If you're waiting until you feel ready or think you are, you're gonna be waiting a long time! Like me 18 almost 19 will have my first in February.. Furthest thing from ready, but I am going with it, gonna be best mommy I can with all the love and wisdom I have.. Help from those around me and their advice and make the best of it. I feel like I'm pretty mature for my age though.. But regardless this situation is in my lap NOW and can't wait until I think I'm ready.. 
​I'd say a good indicator though is you're past the drinking/partying/reveling stage.. You don't feel the need to go clubbing, drinking often.. Night out here and there with the bf/hubby is fine. But child comes first and your relationship with the father

I'm probably not the best person to comment, my other half and I were about to break up with each other but after 9 months of dating, found out oops! I was pregnant with our son. Well it's been 4 years now and quite possibly have baby #2 starting it's baking process ;) (planned).
