Your best bet is to never talk about baby names if you care. I was very secretive about what we were naming our second son and my cousin used the same thing spelled differently. I don’t care so I named him the same thing because I had it picked out a long time ago. She was pissed though. My best friend said she was thinking about naming her son Oliver, which is my 3rd sons name. I laughed and said go for it! They can be cool like that and have the same name. It’s a name and if I’m gonna call my kid by that name for the rest of their life, you bet it’s gonna be something I really like.

It doesn't matter and you can't get salty if you used the name first. It's just a name! My husband's cousin used the name we plan to use, but we never talked about it and we're still going to use the name because we like it. 🤷

No one owns the name. I like lydia for a girl and archie for a boy and if someone else chooses them too, so am i. I love both names.

This reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where George is freaking out because someone stole his baby name. Don't call dibs, just keep the name you like to yourself. It won't be the end of the world if another kid has that name. Growing up, there were three girls named Amanda in my class, two boys named Tyler, and two boys named Kris. It happens.
