Paxil?

Any experiences with Paxil? Side effects? Withdrawal? Or was it like magic?

Hi 🤗 I have been on Paxil for a year and it has done wonders for my anxiety and I feel the side effects I have experienced are worth all the benefits I have seen on it. My side effects are: for about the first 6-9 months, every night I would wake up sweating at 4am like I had a menopausal hot flash, haha. Not sure if that is a common on though, but it has gone away 99%. I also have had it lower my libido but found that what it really did was take away that, like, initial spark that makes you want to initiate sexy time but doesn’t mess with the mechanics or you ability to have a real good time. Experimenting and talking to my partner about it helped us adjust our approach to sexy time and now we are back to the hotness, thought it did take many months and a lot of thinking and communication by both of us (because I didn’t quite narrow down what the solution was for a while). And my last side effect is that I’ve gained like 5-10 pounds over a year. But I am not sure if 100% of the weight if really from Paxil, but I do know that it has influenced it.
All that said, I think Paxil is totally worth it and really helps me to feel like me again! No more ups and downs of medication levels like you can have with shorter lived meds like Xanax and such.

Pharmacy student here. You should be titrated off of Paxil and under no circumstances stay on it during pregnancy. Speaking as a pharmacy student and former Paxil user. I switched to Buspar and many women go on Zoloft instead.
