The menstrual cup

So I started my period on Friday, and this is my first time using a menstrual cup. It took a little bit to get the hang of inserting it but I finally got it. And I love it. But my periods usually last 5 to 6 days and when I took the cup out today, I noticed that there wasn’t any blood but the grey-brown discharge you get when your period is ending. Does it shorten the length of your period because it all just goes in the cup and then out of your body all at once? This has never happened to me before. Someone help😂
