Postpartum Depression.???

Question

In 2013 I had my first baby. I was extremely depressed for almost a whole year afterwards. Im currently 30 weeks pregnant and extremely scared of going through postpartum again. Any advice.???

Talk to your doctor now. And again immediately after delivery. Try to get an appointment sooner than the standard first post birth visit.

I had it with only one of my three. It doesn't happen every time necessarily. Start seeing a therapist now and nip it in the bud.

Same thing with me! Eat lots of nutritious foods, get outside, go for walks, read some good books, exercise. If these things don't work or you're too down to try get on anti depressants until you feel good enough to get moving. Good luck!

Find your time in this..... get your social life as a mum n for you do what you enjoy too remember yourself n mix them both motherhood n you! its hard to find time but when you do you have a 50/50 good luck x

Definitely get yourself into therapy now. Also talk to your OB about it make sure they are aware that you've experienced PPD. And after delivery, just be very aware of your state of mind. You may need antidepressants. And it's all OK. You got through it once and you will get through it if you experience it again.

Take steps to make your life easier after baby comes. Stock up on easy to make foods. If you have people that will help support you, enlist them now instead of them. I don't mean get them working for you now, I mean help them know what you want or need help with after baby comes.
Also make decisions about whether you will take meds or not for PPD.
