Life sucks so bad

My boyfriend and I have been in a relationship for just about a year now it was bumpy the first six months we had to do long distance but we made it through that but now his parents have been really getting on him about the little things like not going to prom with me (which is totally fine) or not talking to me every second of the day they have always done this though but now it’s just getting to be too much (a person can only take so much right) I opened up to him about something else and he apologized and said he’s sorry for acting that way he never meant to hurt me he told me his parents don’t trust him with me and he told me about his parents being on top of him all the time and I felt awful because he’s miserable in this relationship not because of me though because of his parents which sucks this is our first relationship and they are ruining it I don’t want my boyfriend unhappy so I asked him if it would be better going back to being just friends until after school and we move we both agreed that would be the best thing but we still love each other and we don’t wanna breakup because of his parents it was getting late at this point so I told him we don’t need to make such a decision rn I told him to rest and we’d talk in the morning but I’m awake rn and I just feel so heartbroken about all this and even the fact that we might break up because of his crazy parents I thought his parents liked me I thought they wanted us to get married (eventually,we are still too young) I don’t know what either of us did to deserve this I just want things to be ok again 😞💔
