IUD?? Help a sister out!

Question

Today I had my annual visit with my gynecologist. The topic of IUDs came up and I’m a little intrigued but I’m nervous.
If you have an IUD, how do you like it? Is it as effective as everyone says? Are there any side effects? Can it move around?
If you chose not to get an IUD, what were your reasons? Was it something about the IUD or just a personal choice?

I had it for 7 years. I loved the ease and no periods. However I think it contributed to my depression. I'm pregnant at the moment but after baby is here I plan to get the copper one fitted. It is unlikely to stop my periods but there are no hormones involved which is what I want.

I had it 6 years ago and I know 2 others that have had it. We all gained weight on it. The other side effect I had was a lot of anxiety/depression. I also didn't get a period for months after. I had to take provera to jump start it again. Once my cousin got her's out the second time she had UTI after UTI for 6 months. My friend had no other side effect, at least she never said anything. That's just 3 out of many though.

I had an IUD and I adored it. I'm 2 weeks PP and when I speak to my doctor about BC at my 6 week follow up, I'm getting a new one placed.
I had the skyla previously, and I plan to get it again.
