Gestational diabetes
So my situation is a little unique. Because my one hour glucose test was high enough after failing, my Dr. said she could go ahead and refer me to the diabetic center to begin the diet and blood glucose monitoring and that I could skip the 3 hour test. So after I agreed to that I wanted to start working on things right away. So I started eating a little more complex carbs and eating less and following the recommended diet plan as well as getting a glucose meter. I was only on the plan for 3 days before I started testing. So after checking my blood sugar several times, here are my values: yesterday, 96 mg/dL 2 hr post dinner, 109 mg/dL 2 hr post high carb snack. This morning right when I woke/fasting number: 69 mg/dL
So based on these numbers I’d say my glucose is in a pretty nice range but it drops badly if I don’t have enough carbs especially over night. I even had a high complex carb and protein before bed. Before pregnancy I was hypoglycemic, so this doesn’t seem like I have GD to me. What do y’all think?
