Niece and son.

Chelsea • 28 years old! Mommy to an angel baby, and an amazing boy! 😘

My son and niece are 10 weeks and 1 day apart in age, my son being older. My niece has now bit him four times at daycare *our mom does daycare for us* both kids are 2 years old. They fight like siblings.

My son used to be a bit of a ‘bully’ until he finally learned you can’t push, or take toys away from people just because, he finally figured this out shortly before his second birthday, and still struggles with it sometimes, but at daycare, has been doing amazing at this.. Recently my niece has been biting my son to the point that it is breaking skin, and my sisters only reaction is ‘he was probably doing something to piss her off’ when asked if she would do something. Her other response is ‘I’m not there when it happens. I can’t do anything about it.’

So when asking my mom *again, who does daycare for the both of us* what was happening when she decided to bite, she said he’s been

*time number 1* reading by himself

*time number 2* reading by himself

*time number 3* sitting with my mom, he did not kick her off

*time number 4* playing blocks as a group with my niece included.

My mom DOES set her in a timeout, but obviously something has to change?

I don’t want to teach him to bite her back, because I feel that sends the wrong message, also a little hypocritical, so how would you go about handling your own sister, or any of this situation at all?
