Family against the way I want to deliver
I AM SO FED UP WITH PEOPLE TELLING ME WHAT I SHOULD AND SHOULD NOT DO!
Why does EVERYONE have such a big problem with me not wanting an epidural? I get it, its convenient, it takes the pain away. I have absolutely no problem being in pain for a little bit if it means I get to have my baby. If I end up asking for one thats fine, I'm not going to be upset, but why is everyone pitching the biggest fit about me not wanting one?
It's gotten to the point of where they are trying to convince my fiance to "make" me get one. I looked at him today and said, "If you want an epidural so bad then you can get one and give birth too." Absolutely none of these people are having my child. They aren't pushing out a baby. All this bitching is just making me want to tell my OB and nurses to not even offer me one.
My fiance had absolutely nothing to protest about when I told my OB months ago that I wanted a drug free delivery. I don't know what anyone is telling him, but I'm about sick of him trying to push it. I could deal with everyone else, but now that they've gotten into his head I'm starting to get pissed off.
So just in case anyone wants to know, here are my personal reasons for not wanting to have an epidural.
.
Increases risk of c-section
Possible long term spinal pain
Slows down labor
Can completely stop labor
Restricts movement
Can cause baby to have trouble latching
Takes longer to heal
Might give fever, which increases heart rate which is something that our doctor has specificly said shouldn't happen because of why I'm high risk
Blood pressure can drop which gives baby less oxygen
Enters babys bloodstream
Severe migraines caused by spinal fluid leakage
Increases need for forceps, vacuum, and episiotomies
I'm more scared of having an epidural than I am of giving birth
.
I don't care what anyone else chooses, this is just something that I do not want. Why is this such an awful thing?
