I really want a nursing chair (rocking)...Would anyone recommend?

Do they help with feeding ? I don’t want to waste money if they do nothing more than sitting on the sofa ...

I don’t know if they help with feeding, but when I was a nanny and the little one was fighting sleep, the rocker was the go-to solution. I’d snuggle and rock him for a few minutes and he’d start to fall asleep. He found the rocking soothing

I have a glider that rocks. I would be so tired during the frequent night feedings that I'd forget to rock entirely or just stop after a few seconds. It just became a seat to feed my son in his room--for his white noise and dim lighting to keep him sleepy and aware it's still bed/night time. He's about 1.5years and weaned now. Still use it as part of his bedtime routine. Bath, get ready for bed, cuddle on my lap in the chair, and then into bed to sleep. I've left the chair locked (no rocking) for a long time now. For me, all I'd want in retrospect is a really comfortable chair.

My first is 18 months and i still nurse her in the rocker. I got a recliner type and it has been one of our best nursery purchases! I’ve slept in it many times and also just sit it in in her room to play. A must have IMO.

Get a reclining rocker, something that’s actually comfortable to sit/lay in. I spent a lot of time feeding and rocking my last baby to sleep.

I still rock my baby to sleep now and then and he’s almost two. I love the feeling of gently rocking and so does he. I have a glider rocking chair cuz that’s all we could afford but if you can spring for one of those recliner rockers, they’re very comfy

We just ordered a la z boy rocker recliner.  I can’t wait to sleep in it since my acid reflux makes me sick laying down.  I’m thinking I might live in it.

I wish I had one with my daughter! It would have been so nice for those long nights of constant nursing. I probably could have napped more if I had a comfy chair like that. 
At the same time though it really can be a crutch to use it in the bedroom! It can be sooooooo hard to stand up and get the baby in the crib and STAY ASLEEP. So even though it was killer o stand and rock my daughter for forever - it was way easier to lie her down easily that way without waking her up. 
We have a big comfy reclining rocking in our living room now though and I’m definitely looking forward to hanging out here in front of the tv with my second baby come May! 
The other thing I’d like to caution against it, is you also don’t want it to become the ONLY place the baby will sleep. Stuff like that seems to happen despite all our best efforts, but when it’s so easy on the parent to just sit and sleep there too, you don’t have much motivation to really help your baby get used to sleeping on their own, and in turn all of you get less well rested sleep (once the baby is old enough, I’m not talking about when they’re brand new, but more like 7 months and up kind of thing.) they just get bigger and need to move around in their sleep like we do, and it can create a habit which means less well rested sleep for you both. So that’s my caution against it, but not necessarily to not get one, just be mindful of the habits you create is all! If it matters to you :) 
My daughter loves to snuggle and rock in our chair in the living room and it’s so nice even at this age! And like I said, I can’t wait to chill in this chair with our new baby come May!

I have a chair from Ikea that I love, and with the boppy it was great for nursing. It’s not a rocking chair per say, but it bounces. I have the foot stool as well.

I never used mine much for feedings, but my almost 3yr old still loves to be rocked before bed every afternoon and night. I get so much use out of it now I’d really like to upgrade from my rocker to a nice glider 😜🤣

It was just another sitting option for me. Lol I’d use it for night feedings so the baby’s crying wouldn’t wake up my husband, but sometimes when she just wouldn’t sleep I’d move to the living room couch and watch tv lol. My rocking chair is so comfy though I’m definitely going to use it even after all kids are done breast feeding. It’s not a necessity, but it nice
