I was diagnosed with genital herpes at age 15 after losing my virginity in a pushy way. Anyways I was wondering if any other mamas have this and gave successful vaginal birth. My OB gave me a script to start valtrex at 35 weeks (now 29+5) and then they will assess afterwards. I’m worried about it not being prevented 100% as I’ve already had one sore come about a few months ago for the first time in years. Should I opt to have a c section just to be safe or should I try vaginal birth? I feel kind of sad that I might not be able to give birth naturally and I have no idea how c sections work. Any feedback would be appreciated.
