I love Alexander as a name but not Alex as a nickname. Do you think Lex works as a short version? 
I’m happy with Alexander but I know people will shorten it.

My son's name is Alexander & his nickname that I've heard people call him are Alex, Lex, Xander, X, Xan (zan) but the funniest weirdest one come from my mom Al-la-Kah-xan-der because she's so extra and swears he's gonna grow up to like magic lmao

Alexander is one it very few names my husband and I agree on but I feel the same way about the nickname Alex...not sold on Xander either so Lex is a nice alternative!
