The OPK box will tell you when to start based on the length of your cycle. So for me I have a 28 day cycle do would start testing on day 10. But you've got to remember that your o day can vary from month to month even with a regular cycle. My o day varies between days 13-16, but mostly days 14 or 15.

My period is really. Irregular and long it's usually over 30 days

Defiantly both and check your temp every morning

OPK's are more accurate, but CM is good too. If you're worried about the cost of OPK's, you can get big lots of them on eBay cheap. I got 100 OPK's and 50 hpt's for $25 Aus, which is really cheap as they'd normally be $20 for7 OPK's and 1 hpt.

I like tests better - but do CM too cause its free.
