How long did you bleed after a loss? Did it start and stop?

A week ago, I bled very heavily for 5 days. It stopped and now I started spotting/bleeding dark red or brown blood again. Is this normal?

I bled for about five days. I passed the sac on day four, day five was spotting. I had my first period two or three weeks after that. I was told you bleed until EVERYTHING has exited your body.

It starts and stops and can go for up to 6-8 weeks
