Dom vs Dom - help

My boyfriend and I made an arrangement where we would switch for each other so that I would be more comfortable; in the process we have both found out new things about one another and it’s exciting. My problem is that because I am a female I feel limited and I want to know what else I can do so that I can express my dominance. We are trying to ease our way into things but I feel like I’m falling behind. Please help.
