Heart beat on Doppler?

Hello all. I had my second ob appt. I’m 10 weeks today. They tried the Doppler but couldn’t hear anything. I’ve had 2 Mc last year she said no ultrasound until week 19 now. I see her in 4 weeks at 14 weeks and hopefully hear it on the Doppler. Anyone hear the hb at 10 weeks on a Doppler? I’m also obese so that could Factor in too. I’m
Just so scared! I think I’m going to call and ask for a ultrasound for peace of mind!

In the UK they don't tend to try to find baby's heartbeat with a Doppler until at least 16 weeks because they can be extremely hard to find and it causes unnecessary stress in a lot of cases. Please try not to worry too much your baby is still very small and well hidden

I was at my 10 week appointment last week and the doctor didn't even try the Doppler and said, "It's too early to hear anything right now. Maybe by your next appointment." My next appointment is at 14 weeks.

What on earth why no US till 19 weeks?! Don’t worry about it. They’re small at this time so a Doppler is very tricky. But I’d question them about the US unless that seems to be common practice where you live?

In in New York and went in at 10 weeks and she said it was early but she did look for the heart beat with the monitor and was able to find it

Relax..its still early for the Doppler..my doc wont even try til 14 weeks because if they can't find it , it just creates panic.. I'm also chubby so mine is hard to find too..insist on the ultrasound just to ease your nerves.. I wouldn't have had one til 20 weeks anatomy scan but they let me get a dating scan around 10 weeks to make me feel better

I heard it on my home Doppler but they didn’t even try in the office until 12.

I couldn’t hear my little one on the Doppler until 17 weeks!! I’ve got a tilted uterus and an anterior placenta so I’ve always struggled with it. Try not to worry I know that’s easier said than done. Why do you not have one until 19 weeks? What about genetic testing?

I don’t remember my drs trying to use the Doppler until second trimester when the uterus is above the pelvic bone.

That’s so odd. My doctor didn’t even try the Doppler at my 14 week appointment bc she said she doubted she could hear anything that early. I would definitely stress that you have a history of mc and you absolutely want an ultrasound done.
