Solid foods?

My son will be 6 months on the 24th, and his doctor told me once he reaches this age it is okay for him to eat some table foods, which is great! My only concern is, what can i give him even though he has no teeth? (He’s been eating baby food since 3 1/2 months)

I believe the baby food is the solids your pediatrician was referring to. Anything that's not just milk/formula. Does the doctor know baby's already been eating food?

At 6 months babies can eat whatever you are eating, with the exception of honey and anything too hard.

Do some research on baby led weaning or if it suites you and your family better just start babe off with purees!

Omg soooo precious now i really want a boy . but i worked at a daycare and i grew up watching children. I would think you would have to build him up to solids but try soft foods that can melt in his mouth and that he cant choke on. Just be careful and have to watch him eat. Bread, mashed potatoes, ect. I cant really think of too many right now. But eventually he might start trying to tear it apart or chew with his gums but build him up to it so the function will become natural and try to show him how to bite and chew.

Their gums munch so well they act like teeth, according to my pediatrician. I would suggest continuing with the purées and maybe doing some cereal puff things to get the food going. You could do some super soft steamed sweet potatoes and carrots just not puréed.

Our son only has two bottom front teeth. We’ve been transitioning him from purées to bites. We use some of the Gerber puffs, yogurt bites, teething wheels, and lil bits foods. We also feed him sweet potatoes, peas, bananas, and pears. Tonight was the first night we didn’t mash the peas. He did well :)
