Do Drs do a 12 week ultrasound to check the growth?

I had my first dating ultrasound at 7w 1d and I have an appointment tomorrow so I’m wondering if they’ll do another one to check if the baby is growing okay.

It all depends on your doctor. After my first ultrasound, I didn’t get another until 20 for my anatomy scan. If they don’t, you can always go out in town. At my other appointments they just checked the fundal height and baby’s HB.

If you are in the US most the time they do not. You only get an dating scan around 8 weeks and one at 20. If the doctor feels the need to do an extra ultrasound he will.

We did but that’s because it was part of the genetic testing to check for Down syndrome and other abnormalities. If we elected to not have that testing done we wouldn’t have had another until the 20 week anatomy scan.

All are different. I had one at 8 weeks to check my due date. I had a subchorionic hematoma so I had a follow up at 12 weeks. Had I not had the hematoma I most likely wouldn’t have gone for another scan until my anatomy scan.

My dr only does a 12 weeks scan and a saying scan if you ask for it. The 12/13 week scan is only for genetic testing so I choose to do it so I can see baby again lol.

My dr didn't I had a sono at 9 weeks went back a month later at 13 weeks all my OB did was the audio fetal Doppler.

Depends where u are in the world. In the US I got one around 6 weeks to confirm. 20 weeks for anatomy scan. And I'll have a quick one at 36 weeks to check position of baby. I got an elective one at 16 weeks to find our gender early that I paid for out of pocket.

Honestly depends on your doctor/ where you’re being seen. At the hospital I go too you only get 3 ultrasounds. The dating one which I had at 6 weeks cause I had bleeding and cramping, then I wouldn’t have had one till 20 weeks, then one at the end. But I got one at 11 cause I had weird cramps and back pain and they wanted to check on baby
