I feel it's a bit of both. Love takes work to keep up over the years. It's a choice to put in that effort; to keep the flame alive and burning. But at the same time you can't do it alone. They have to put in the work too. You can't help losing feelings if they're not trying. And sometimes you just change and what you need changes. If they don't change with you in the same way, that can't be helped

I feel like choosing to stay with someone is not the same as love, but it depends. Love isn’t a choice, so if you’re choosing to stay with someone because of your history, that’s not love, that’s just settling. And idk I feel like we do choose who we love. I don’t believe in like destiny or love at first sight. Things just happen.🤷‍♀️

I think you can’t chose to just stop loving someone. But you CAN chose to walk away even if you have love for them. You need to put yourself first. Just Bc you love someone doesn’t mean you need to be with them.
