Baby detergent?

I’m a FTM and just got my c-section scheduled today. So obviously I’m mentally making check lists lol I need to wash her clothes but is it 100% necessary to wash them in baby detergent like dreft? Or will something like tide free and gentle work just fine?

4th time mom here...I always wash every thing in baby detergent first (because I like the smell) after the one container is done we go to all free and clear which is what we use any ways. There is no need to wash them in baby detergent. Free and clears/gentle are fine 😁

I never use special detergent with my kids. If I noticed a rash I would probably change but I don’t see any need at first. My kids so far have had no problems with us just using our regular detergents 😊

I used Dreft with my first and just bought another bottle for baby #2. I do not remember it smelling so strongly! It isn’t a bad smell - but more fragrance than I prefer. I think I’m going to return it and use our regular 7th gen Free and Clear sensitive.

Free and clears are better for baby. Dreft has harsh ingredients and fragrances.

I’m on my 3rd baby and use All free and clear. You can get big bottles at Walmart relatively cheap and it’s great because it has no additives

I used tide free &gentle before and my kids broke out so bad as Tide has harsh chemicals in it. Switched to a more natural detergent and huge difference.

I bought a small bottle of Dreft because I LOVE THE SMELL. (It’s kind of more for me than the baby, cause I am obsessed with the smell) haha but I think using a detergent without dyes or fragrances would be okay as well!!

I just used free and clear from tide! Maybe I was wrong doing that, but I figured it was ok. I’m a ftm.....still learning everything I need to lol
