Would/Did you do a registery with baby #2 opposite gender?

My daughter will be 2.5 when my son is born. I desperately need boy clothes with not alot or resources to get them. 
I was thinking about registration for people who are interested but think id rather do a fun post/annoucement that says something to the effect of "Come garage sale thrifting with me this spring. Looking for baby brother items. So he doesnt end up looking like this..." Then posting a picture of one of the dogs that my daughter has dressed. I could invite people to come for coffee doughnuts at 8am and then we could leave at 9am? Then people that want to bring a gift have the opportunity? Or something? Any thoughts?

I'd honestly just have a second baby shower for him,it's not that uncommon to have showers for each baby now days.

I cannot imagine asking people for gifts again! I am a HUGE fan of thrifting, especially for kids clothes. I think it’s a great idea. And if anyone doesn’t want to come, just tell them you’re open to hand me downs. Putting more crap in the landfills is just so needless. Do your idea - it’s cute! I

Do a registry so people who live far away can get you what you need/want. Do a shower for people that are close. People already started asking us for our registry and a friend already started planning a shower before I could even think about it. I think people like to be a part of things. You could still go thrifting with family and friends who want to. Do it all if you want. :)
Oh and we have way more on our registry than I think people will actually get us. That way we can buy the things for ourself with the completion discount.

I’m having the same sex (boy) but they are over 9 years apart. I’m doing so many registries but mainly for the free stuff and the discount that comes with them. You can certainly do another baby shower. I just did a baby raffle but only because I hate asking for things.

I would make the registry and give it to people who ask what you need or want. Invite a close friend or your MIL or mom or your sister to thrift shop with you. We aren't doing another shower but really need stuff since 1. Our last baby was 11 years ago and 2. This one is a boy...we've made an Amazon registry for relatives and friends who ask and we've got the thrift stores with my mom who is over the moon to buy boy clothes this time around (found some perfect condition name brand stuff super cheap)...but we aren't party people (both hubby and I are introverts)...If you are, I think doing a shower would be just fine.

I do a registry with each child. It's my wish list and I can use the discount at the end. I don't give up out the info unless someone asks.

I think it's a better idea then a second shower. I may be old fashioned but I don't expect others to replenish my baby supply because I got knocked up again. This is coming from someone who had their first and only my shower 8 years ago and expecting in July without expecting a shower ( I saved everything I could). I think that's a great idea and gives people the opportunity to have fun and give for the baby if it is their desire. A sprinkle would be acceptable if someone volunteered to throw it for you.

If I was having a different gender I would totally register and have another baby shower. Only reason we aren’t is because we are having another boy. We may have a sprinkle and ask for diapers and wipes (just to celebrate him) but nothing big. I’d go all out for a different gender because you almost need everything!
