Why is it so hard to leave a toxic person??

I’ve been with my boyfriend for 3 years.. he’s cheated, put his hands on me, breaks up with me whenever he feels like it, disappears for days (or weeks) at a time and the list goes on. Today he broke up with me once again, blocking my number and on every social media platform.. and I’m just heartbroken, he does it all the time and it never gets easier. This being said, why is it that I can’t let go of this relationship?? 😩

Because you’ve been traumatized and now it’s what you’re used to and what you think you deserve. Old habits die hard. I went through the same thing with my ex thinking I could “fix him” and it was “just a stage” and had to speak to a trauma therapist. Trust me though, leave. It’s so worth it. Right after I finally had the courage to leave him and not look back I found the love of my life. The difference is night and day. Once you find someone who treats you the way you deserve to be treated you’ll kick yourself for all the time you wasted on him. Best of luck xo.

Its so hard because we don't realize how easy it actually is to say enough is enough.. I was in your shoes years ago.. 4 years I stayed.. I started going to church by myself.. Surrounding myself with positive people.. I eventually started to value myself and got the courage to leave.. It hurt at first.. But my heart healed with time.. I'm now happily married to a wonderful man who will do anything and everything to see me smile 😌💕
When I decided to leave be begged me not to.. He said he was ready to change and live to make me happy.. I'm so glad I didn't listen to him because I wouldn't have the happy life i have now 😉
You are worth so much more than you think! Don't let a man make you feel like you aren't worthy or like you're stuck.. There's plenty other GOOD men out there.. And there's also YOU.. We don't need to be with a man to be happy 🙅

I guess a part of you thinks that you can’t do better or you don’t deserve better. A part of you may want their attention even more because it seems hard to get. Sometimes when people treat us badly, we think it’s our fault and so we want their validation and attention again. That isn’t true. It’s a lie. That your low self esteem is telling you. Break the emotional addiction now. You’re robbing yourself of what you deserve - better! I’ve been in your shoes and I promise you it only gets worse. Life threateningly worse. He ain’t shit, block him!

I went through the same thing with a man like that. Low self esteem was all I could come up with. I couldn’t leave until after we had kids together (twins). I couldn’t let my girls grow up watching me be treated like that. I left him easily at that point. I’m now happily engaged to an amazing man. I’m sorry I don’t have advice, I know it’s hard & I hope you find the strength to leave his dumb ass. It kills me to see SO many girls going through this with bum ass losers.

Because you’re co-dependent on him. Unfortunately you’re use to this unhealthy relationship. it’s time to move on! Block him from your phone, social media and etc. heal and find someone you  deserve so much better. Good luck to you.
