Time to find a new OBGYN?
I have had some issues with my gynecologist, well maybe it’s the office itself. I first started going my senior year of high school because my periods were so irregular and so painful that I would puke for three days straight and needed birth control to regulate them. My family has insurance that will cover certain pills. We showed the list to the doctor and she gave me a month supplies for one listed. I called after the second week of using them to order my 3-month refill. They sent me one that cost over $100 out of pocket for 3 months when it should have been one on the list provided by our insurance. This went back and forth for over a year of figuring out the correct pill that was covered by our insurance. I finally found one that was covered AND helped me tremendously with my periods. I am now a senior in college (notice the time difference and finally being set with this pill). 2 months ago, I called to refill my prescription. They sent me a different pill, similar name though. So I called and asked if we could send them back and get the ones we agreed on. The lady told me they were a generic form of my pill, that everything was the same. She left out a HUGE part that this pill makes you skip periods, so here I am panicking that my period is not coming and thinking that I have a bun in the oven. Some other details about my gyn’s office; they had it down that I had an ovarian cyst when I had a cyst in my breast so when I called in to tell them the cyst in my breast ruptured, they had no information on it. Also they had down that my mom was pregnant...she had the surgery 16 years ago....in conclusion, I like my doctor because she has helped me a lot, but the nurses and the office have kind of given me a bad vibe. What do you guys think?? Is it time to change?
