What to tell friends before you're ready to announce that you're pregnant?

Every time I don't have a drink when we are out for dinner, friends are asking why not. I'm not ready to tell them yet (only at 6 weeks)... what kind of believable excuse do I make up? I live in France so to not have a glass of wine with dinner is weird.

I said I was on a strict 8 week diet ;)

Get to the restaurant first and tell the waiter you are pregnant. Order vodka sodas (or rum and coke,  etc)  but tell the waiter ahead of time to only bring you soda. Worked for me so far

I used to say I was on medication that you can't combine alcohol with.  Usually the questions stop there but if they ask what's wrong or how are you sick I used to say an ear infection.

Thanks all for the helpful ideas! Tried the antibiotics one, successfully... but how often can I repeat that? At least my hubs is more than happy to drink all of my booze for me, my birthday party next weekend should be fun for him :)

Whenever I got offerd a drink I just said no thanks I'm a bit hungover from the night before x then they never suspected anything

I'd order by myself say a sprite with a lemon and say it was vodka. And recently my boyfriend would order me a beer, go to the bathroom pour it out and fill it with water and I'd just hold it so it looks like I was drinking

I say i get migranes and when taking meds for that im not allowed alcohol. Belivable so far.

I would order a drink and just not drink it, especially if I was with my husband. I would pretend to sip it and he would "taste" it and take it off my hands. 
If questioned I would say that I was tired and didn't want to overdue it and fall asleep at the table

I paved the way well for this issue. I have genetic issues n had been detoxing in several ways n cutting out stuff. So regardless I was giving up alcohol but I sealed the deal nice n early  knowing we were ttc. So would they believe you are on a health kick to detox?
