Ok, so my question here is...does one have a baby shower after their first two that were different genders and it's been a decade since the youngest one?

I'm 39, have a 13 yr old daughter and a 10 yr old son...and I'm curious on the whole baby shower educate on this one. I personally wouldn't be the one throwing it, but does one at this point in time/life think about it or shouldn't!?!!!

Well my last shower was 19 years ago with a group of friends I went to high school with lol. So I think I see a shower in my future lol.

I'm in this same type of boat too. I'm 38 and on my third. My first is almost 12 and my second is almost 2. Girl, boy, girl respectively.

My in laws have a tendency to go overboard with the big stuff, so we are covered on cribs and car seats and those things. We still have bottles and things from our son, so that leaves diapers and wipes and bath stuff that we still need.

That being said, my friends are throwing me a 'Sprinkle'. That way we can get ahead on diapers and wipes and the like, and if someone wants to grab a cute outfit for her, they have the run of whatever store they are in.

In my experience, this is the stuff people want to buy anyway, so it's a win win!

I've seen diaper showers held after the first baby. It's where they all come over with diapers and wipes, as gifts, and if they choose, they could bring other items, but not expected. It's truly up to you and your family, but I see nothing wrong with celebrating life, and if this is the father's first, why deny him that experience with his family, for this first child.

I think it's ok. This is my hubby's first and my son will be 10 by the time baby arrives. I don't have one baby item and if I had saved them they would be out of date anyway. I think if family is excited and wants to throw a shower then baby and you guys should be celebrated.

We are having a full shower. Our babies are 9 1/2 years apart. The only stuff we had left from our first child was furniture. We needed everything else! I'm so blessed and great fil because I have friends throwing me and a shower and family. I think as long as people want to throw you a shower then go for it!!

I'm having a boy. My 1st was a boy but he is 16. My 2nd was a girl and she is 9. So yes u should have a baby shower for ur new baby. Regardless of gender. So many things have changed since ur last one.
