How long does a Boy dog have to wear a cone after getting Neutered?

My 5 month old little guy got neutered last Thursday.. So today is day 3 post-op... does he still need the cone?

7-10 days. Do not take it off, only for eating and going for walks but if he is going to lick the wound it has to go straight back on

When my dog got neutered he didn’t wear a cone at all. My boy had glue not stitches though! You can take it off when you are watching him, the big concern is just keeping him calm and not bouncing around!

My dog lost his mind with the cone to the point where I had to take it off of him after 2 days. Just keep an eye and make sure he isn’t licking it. If he doesn’t leave it alone I’d put it back on him though

Mine never wore a cone. Just keep an eye on him for a week or so he doesn’t lick his wounds. If he does mess with it then I’d put a cone on.

Well I don’t have a dog I have a cat and when he got fixed they didn’t make him wear a cone. You should be good to take it off him just make sure he don’t start biting and licking at it.

I let my doggo out of the cone when I was around and able to watch her, but put it on when I wasn't able to pay attention (cleaning, etc) or wasn't home.
