Just got stranded and no one would help
Just got stranded and everyone I encountered got angry at me and refused to help. Wouldn’t even let me use their phone. Even people with cars told me “I can’t help you”. It’s 23 degrees F and I was crying the entire time. I was out there for about an hour. I knocked on a woman’s door after being told I could go over there by a person in a car who knew her bc she’d answer her door and i was yelled at, she said that “there’s plenty of people walking up and down the street” “NO you cannot use my phone”. There was no one, I repeat, no one out on the street. It was too cold outside. I apologized and just cried while leaving.
The only person I finally did see and who helped me was an older homeless woman sitting around a fire with a minute phone who let me use it to request a Lyft & she even gave me good advice.
I was stranded bc my phone had died, and me and the guy I took uber to see, got into an argument and he assaulted me and purposely stranded me out there, knowing my phone had died. The advice the woman gave me was to know my worth, which I definitely needed to hear. She said she didn’t even know why I was out there like that, that I was a young pretty girl who deserved for a guy to treat her nice and come to her instead lol.
Tonight just hit me hard because I’m sensitive and have some battles with depression and wanting to continue on because I’ve been abused and molested and things and I really liked this guy and I also really thought most people were nice but obviously I know now that’s not true. And I’m so thankful for the homeless woman for being the only one who helped. Funny how that worked out because I was scared to approach her but she was the sweetest thing ever
