IUD help

Ree

I’ve been thinking about getting an IUD but I dint know which one would be good for me. I gained a lot of weight on the mini pill which was a leaf up to nexplanon. I’m leaning towards the paragaurd because it’s hormone free but are other options any better?

I have the mirena. The only side effect I have is missing my period, and when I do have it every three or four months then it’s so light it’s basically spotting. The localised hormones means it’s way less likely to interfere with the rest of your body the way the mini pill does. I had a good time with nexplanon, but my mirena iud has by far been the best for me. If you have painful or heavy periods you’d doctor will probably try to steer you away from the paraguard as it can make your periods worse

The mirena is the larger on but I’m in the uk so my choices are either the mirena or the paraguard. It might have maybe increased my sex drive a little? But I have a high sex drive anyway so it’s hard to tell. The mirena was my last option, it was either the mirena or condoms and praying I don’t get pregnant. I love the mirena and honestly the size isn’t a bother to me and I’m 18 with no kids so don’t let the size of it scare you. Insertion is uncomfortable but when it’s once every five years it’s worth it

Is the mirena the smaller one? Or is that the skyla? I’m really tired of worrying about birth control 😩. Also, how did it affect your sex drive?increase? Decrease? No change?
