How much baby food is your child eatting?

My son is 5 months old & his pediatrician ok’d us to start on baby foods @ his 4 month appt , we tried rice cereal first waited a few days then tried oatmeal & he loved the oatmeal. we just tried sweet potatoes yesterday & he liked those as well but I just plan on giving it to him as a snack once a day until he’s a little older! They still get all their nutritional needs from formula/Breast Milk!

If your pediatrician tells you to start then just start slowly introducing food once per day like puréed avocado, sweet potato, apple, butternut squash, etc. My little guy only eats about a teaspoon to a tablespoon of food per day and still breastfeeds every 3 hours.

At this age they shouldn’t only eat baby food. Breast milk or formula should still be their main source of nutrition for the first year. 
On top of that, AAP and WHO do not recommend introducing solids until at least 6 months.

I just started her on baby food a few weeks ago. But I'll only feed her it once (usually around dinner) every 2-3 days because I'm worried about if she has an allergy. But next month I'll begin to do it more often. She's really stubborn about when we go out to eat though she wants food too and nothing todo with her bottle😂

My baby is having some tummy issues so our pediatrician recommended we start at 4 months but we waited until 5 months. I was going to try to hold of until 6 months but if it helps his tummy I didn’t want to do that. Also I felt bad because he kept trying to eat our food and he tries to grab our cups when we drink.

We started at 4 months just doing it once or twice a week and have been following her lead . If I did it too many days in a row it would back her up, slowly we e gone back and fourth with how often but now at 5.5 months we've started it once a day. Sometimes she only wants a couple bites, one night she ate an entire jar. I just follow her signals. We didn't and won't do any rice or oatmeal we went straight to fruits and veggies

I’ve been trying rice cereal and breastmilk, butternut squash, sweet potato’s, avacado, etc, and he’s loved everything! Weirdly, he refused a bottle for two days and ONLY wanted to eat and my pediatrician said to keep trying to nurse but he wouldn’t nurse OR take a bottle. He was not happy until he got food in his belly! He thankfully resumed nursing but still SCREAMS until he gets his nummies. He has a mind of his own🤷🏻‍♀️

I started giving my little guys a little rice cereal mixed with breastmilk at 4 months. In a few days I plan on introducing some green veggies mixed in with his cereal 😊
