What to Expect at Fertility Appointment

For those of you who feel that your OBGYN or RE is awesome, aggressive, and thorough,  can you tell me what types of tests, ultrasounds, etc... were done for you while you were ttc? For example, while taking meds like Femara/Clomid, what type of monitoring was done? I am going to a new doctor that it highly recommended in my area and I just want to know what types of treatment I should expect. I just don't want to waste another five months with a provider who isn't doing enough. I already know that I have low progesterone and have been taking suppositories, but I feel that the dose is too low to really make a difference. Also, because I chart like a boss (haha) I KNOW that I am not ovulating regularly, so I'm wondering what type of monitoring should be done to confirm this, especially while taking fertility meds.

I love my Dr. And the very first appointment she had DH do an SA (semen analysis) and I did an ultrasound. From there she scheduled an HSG where the put the dye through your Fallopian tubes and after that on cd 3 I had about 15 blood panels done. I had a follow up after that appointment where we went over my blood work HSG and DH SA.. Then she basically told me this is your problem(s) prescribed clomid (she was going to do an ultrasound but I was on my period so she said it wasn't necessary) I came back in about 10 days later they did another ultrasound, saw I made 2 great eggs had me do a trigger shot and I went in the next day for my first IUI, which she said was the best path for us considering everything that was wrong!

My fertility dr does not believe in charting. He believes there is a lot of misconception that has occurred with chatting and actually didn't even want to see my charts. There is a blood test that is done CD3 that gives the dr insight on what is going on with your body and then a couple of other blood test throughout your cycle to check levels and see if you ovulated. He also did an ultrasound to confirm ovulation. The other test is a dye test to check your tubes to see if they are blocked. This test was also done right away to rule out the tubes as a problem. Hubby was sent for sperm analysis right away too.
