I’m still young and currently single but I don’t know if I buy the idea that there’s just one person for everyone. A relationship that lasts a lifetime takes two people who are both equally invested in working hard to make it work.

For me there was a certain moment with my husband when i realized he was it.
Before him every relationship i had ended after 3 months. It either fizzled, or we would get into an argument and it would end (with my ex we would keep getting back together but every 3 months fpr 3 years, like clockwork, wed break up).
When my husband and i hit 3 months I picked a fight with him (over something small, selfish and pointless) and I stormed out of the house crying and left him standing in the doorway.  I didnt want to go back to my place or my parents, so I just drove around for hours.  I didnt look at my phone until I got back to my place.  My husband had called and texted me multiple times.  Idr exactly what he said, but it was along the lines of im sorry, i love you, and I hope youre ok.  Later that night I went back to his place and we talked. He didnt break up with me and didnt threaten to leave me, even when I acted like a b*. 
That was when I knew.
7 years together, 2.5 of those married, and yes weve gotten into arguments, but we stuck by each other.
