MLK day reflections.
Last night I watched “If Beale Street Could Talk”. If you haven’t watched this movie, it’s incredibly powerful. As I watched the movie, which is about a young black couple who is pregnant, this is in the trailer, not a spoiler, I couldn’t help but reflect upon my TTC journey. My journey has been hard, in different ways than the couple in the movie. I’ve had recurrent miscarriages, but I’m still mustering just a little hope that I’ll be a mother one day. With MLK day today, I’ve been reflecting upon parenting and equality. I saw a meme that is very relevant that shows two young friends one white and one black. The caption states that people are not born racist and that it is taught. I feel so passionate about equality for all. Equality for people of all races, gender, sexual orientation, class, etc. And I look forward to having the opportunity to raise a little one with these values and qualities. I want to raise a little advocate. 👧🏾👦🏼👨🦰👵🏻🧕🏼👮🏽♂️🌈🤞✌️👍
