So when my mom found out I was sexual active when i was 16 ,2012(I’m almost 23 now)she took me to the doctors and has them put me on the pill but it made me sick as hell even if i took it right before going to bed. So a month later we went back and since i was a athlete and playing sports all year round the suggested the vaiginal IUD. So i got it implanted and i bled heavily for almost three months straight and they said that was normal. After that i got my period every month and gradually stopped getting one closer to my 6 month mark-1 year mark. I never had any issues with it and went in regularly for my check up. Fast forward to January 2015. I went in for my check up and the noticed a mass growing in my left ovary. They ran some test and they found out that i had a dermoid cyst growing right on top of my ovary so they decided that it would be best to have surgery. I went in for surgery in June of 2015 after a few months of monitoring the growth of the cyst. The surgery went well and the cyst came back non cancerous.From the time of surgery also the way until January of 2017 i was in constant pain. The pain would get so bad that i just couldn’t handled it and decided to get it removed. I went back on the pill and it did it’s job but i felt more comfortable with the implant method. I talked with a few friends and decided i would try out nexplanon and got it inserted in my left arm in July of 2017. Biggest mistake of my life. I went from 130lbs to almost 200 pounds in less then a year. And i was active and eating right. My periods where never regular to the point i would stop and about 30 minutes later restart. I was Hormonal as all hell. I literally felt like i was growing through puberty all over again. My poor boyfriend didn’t know what to do. So i went back to my doctors and explained what was happening. So they took another ultrasound of my uterus and bam! Three dermoid cyst and my uterus was covered in cyst. I took it out and two days later while i was at work i took off the bandages and my arm started to bleed like crazy and wouldn’t stop. My boss had to take me to the doctors and they found out that a little bit of the nexplanon was still in my arm!! I gave myself a few months off of birth control all together and got myself regular again. I now have the vaginal implant again and i wish i never switched up my birth control. I am having surgery soon to have all of my cyst removed but they said if the surgery is not successful they will remove my left ovary and my left tube. Have any of your had issues or Side effects for the arm implant or is it just me??
