When did you first bathe your newborn?

The hospital staff gave baby their first bath. Within the first week of being home I washed my kids but only with a wet wash cloth as they cannot be submerged until the belly button stump falls off. So each child old got their first full bath at home whenever it was safe to do so and their belly button was all healed.

My LO went in the herb bath with me at the birth center. She’s taken showers with me every 3-5 days at home after she was 2 weeks old. But she only gets rinsed, no soap or scrubbing.

My hospital did his first bath at 24 hours after birth. 
We gave him his first bath at home at around a 1.5 weeks old after his cord fell off. He hasn’t had a bath since then due to having surgery which required stitches.

Hospital bathed him a day after birth and I did not bathe him until his circumcision plastibell fell off and belly button fell off. Which was about a week after we got home.

First bath at 8 days old, I was planning to go to 10 but he peed all over himself whilst taking photos and figured it was close enough. I did wipe him down and keep him clean during those days though- but he was nearly always wrapped up clean and in aircon.
