I have a baby boy who will be 5 weeks old tomorrow. I have breastfed since birth apart from the odd bottle of formula in the first couple of weeks. I feel it is going well and baby is putting on weight. I’ve been to visit family this morning and some have made comments that he is feeding too often. They said he should be going about 4 hours between. They also suggested he is spoilt because he wants to be held a lot. My question is how often should breastfed babies feed?

These family members are in their 70’s so very much from the era where you just left babies to cry.

I’ve just come away feeling a bit sad and like I’m not doing it properly- whatever that is! Any help much appreciated!
