I had a HSG today (hysterosalpingogram) and I was warned to take ibuprofen beforehand and that it was pretty “crampy” but some feel nothing.

Crampy is an understatement. The balloon hurt, but when the dye was injected-it was one of the most painful things I can remember if not the most.

It was SO so painful and I bled quite a bit afterwards. I’m pretty okay with pain, but at one point I was scared I’d pass out. Afterwards I was weak, shaky, and sweaty. All wonderful things.

Did the rest of you who’ve had this done have this much pain? Do you think it may have been so intense because there was a blockage that flushed out?

My official report isn’t back yet, but he showed me an endometrial polyp and the contrast spilling out on both sides. So we’ll see what the poly leads to. 😪
