Opinion on 3 hours travel?

Hey all, I was planning a visit to see friends and family in 2 weeks. I'll be 36 weeks at that time and a state away (about 3-3.5 hours away from home). My Mom mentioned maybe I shouldn't travel that far from home, and I would be making the drive alone. Should I hold off until after baby's born? Or do you think it's close enough? Thanks!

I would for sure hold off ESPECIALLY since you’ll be alone.

I would maybe consider it with an okay from my doctor, if I was with someone. My so and I were just talking about taking a day trip somewhere just cause lol. 
But alone? I would be too worried something would happen, or labor would start and I wouldn't be able to drive back myself. I think it's too big a risk, especially that far along.

Are you driving?
It’s very hard, and sitting that long can cause a lot of BH contractions. I did it last preg and wouldn’t again.
Can you take the train?

I personally wouldn't even if I had someone with me. My husband drove me couple weekends ago an 1.5 away for a bridal shower and I was 30 weeks. Now besides going to work the farthest I feel comfortable going is 20 mins away. I also had my daughter earlier which is a big factor to my decision.

Maybe ask your doctor and see if someone else could travel with you? My OB says not to travel more than two hours away after 36 weeks. At this point anywhere I drive that’s more than and hour and I bring someone with me in case I go into labor and need someone else to drive. I don’t want to deliver my baby anywhere but the hospital I’ve chosen if I’ve got the choice.

I say definitely hold off on it...you’ll be yourself which to me is a scary thought!

I wouldn't unless I was cool with possibly giving birth somewhere else than where I expected. And I wouldn't be comfortable driving that far alone.
But you know yourself the best and what you would be okay with 😊
