Teachers when are you telling students?

I am a 7th grade teacher & I have no idea when to tell my students. I won't do it before the first trimester is over. My former principal told me not to tell my students & just wait until they figured it out. What are you all doing?

I teach junior high and told them after I heard the heartbeat a second time. (11 weeks). I wore an announcement shirt. They loved it. Kids can be really sweet sometimes.

They’re probably right. Wait for them to notice. Or at least until youre obviously showing. I teach kindergarten special education so I won’t say anything until I’m showing because I know they’ll notice the bump. But a few of my coworkers know so they can help out when my students have crisis moments.

I teach middle school phys Ed   With my first I waited until Friday trimester was over and genetic testing came back clean. I’ll probably do the same thing again.

I teach 5th graders and am planning on telling after my next ultrasound at 14 weeks. I’m going to tell staff/parents of students the same day.

I teach 6-8th and plan on telling as soon as I get my genetic testing back. I am already showing so there’s no way I can wait longer. I’ll be 12 weeks in two days.

I will tell them when I publicly announce. Several reasons: this is a town of 2,500 people and I know most of their parents personally, I want them to understand why it is SO important now to practice good hygiene, and to be very gentle with hugs (I teach elementary special education and sometimes they get carried away.)

I also teach 7th grade, and I’m going to tell them sometime next month. I’ll be around 16 weeks by the end of Feb. so they’ll notice something soon, lol. Another teacher on my staff is 8 months pregnant and she told them around 5 or 6 months. They were so excited and supportive, so I don’t have any fear of letting them know when it’s time. I think they’re starting to get curious because I’ve been nauseous so much this first trimester. They’ll probably all be like, “I knew it!” LOL

I’m not a teacher. But I’m a probation/parole agent and I’m not telling them until they notice either. Obviously I’m gonna have to tell them eventually because someone else will be taking over my caseload while I’m on maternity leave but I’m not saying anything until they notice and say something themselves. Not exactly the same situation but similar!
