To lie or not to lie...
So I have this friend, she is a single mom of 4 and I adore her very much. She is struggling a bit with her 15 year old, and we have been there for her when things get rough. She has noticed that he needs a male figure in his life and has asked my husband to help with that. My husband and I have developed a really good open relationship with this kid and he trusts us and we r very honest with him.
So today my friend calls me and asks if her son can stay with us for a couple of hours cause she needed to run some errands and she didn't trust to leave him at home and I was super ok with that. But then she said I had to make up a story to get him to come over to our house, because if she asked him to go, he would say "no" out of spite.
So she was asking me to lie to her son, and I really didnt feel comfortable. I am not in her situation so I dont know how bad it was that she wanted me to lie, but I feel like that would just create a trust barrier between us and the kid.
Do u think it was fair for her to ask that of me? Or is that just a normal thing to ask a friend?
