Do you know this man? UPDATED

TrueCrimeNerd • Getting off this shit for a while! Good luck and baby dust to everyone.

I know this isn’t romantic relationship related, but I thought it would be a good platform to reach a large number of people.

This is a photo of my birth father that was taken in Ohio, either in 1990 or 1991. He was a bartender and his name was Robert Montgomery. I believe he was 29 at the time. He is tall, at least 6ft. I do not have any other information.

My main goal is to get more medical information about his side of my family so that when I have children, I don’t have to keep saying “I don’t know mine, I’m adopted.” I would also like to find half-siblings, as I am now friends with my brother on my bio mom’s side.

Any help would be appreciated!

Edit: I was born in Craven County at the Cherry Point military base. Her estranged husband was in the military, so the base would have no info on my bio dad.

I have done Ancestry and MyHeritage and did not get any close relative matches.

Did not know that bio parents met in Ohio, not NC. She thinks Dayton.

UPDATE: A Glow member had sent me a FB photo a few weeks back with a man who could be him now, and she did some digging and found his daughter on FB. I messaged her yesterday, and she spoke to her dad and it’s him. I’m still not sure 100%, but he seems sure aside from wanting to confirm with a test, which I agree with. He wants to talk to me, I’m a bit in shock right now so we haven’t spoken yet. He has (at least) 3 kids, the 23 year old daughter I spoke to and a boy who is 18 are biological kids and he has a 26 year old daughter that is not biological.

He’s offering a VERY different account of what happened, saying he didn’t know about me. My birth mother claims he denied paternity. Either way, I’m willing to speak with him and hear him out, and hopefully get confirmation that he’s my birth father. They offered to pay for the testing.

What a crazy thing!

We spoke and he is genuinely excited and wants the test to come back as a yes. This is overwhelming because of my expectation my whole life that he would want nothing to do with me.

We are waiting for it to arrive and then it will be another few days before results come in. From talking to him, I think he did not know that my birth mother was pregnant. He said he would have asked her to let him raise me, and that’s probably exactly why he never knew. She knew what she wanted/needed to do. It’s going to be a tough conversation with her, especially if the test were to come back negative. He’s the guy I have known to be my birthfather, but there’s always a possibility he isn’t who fathered me. More updates soon!

2/14- I sent in my half of the paternity test and he will send his today. We should know sometime next week what the results are!

2/19- with President’s day and them not sending the results back until Friday/Saturday, it’s possible we won’t know until next week unfortunately.

2/20- I hate to let everyone down with this, but it’s not him. The test came back 0.0000% chance he is my biological father. I sent a picture of the test to my birth mother and she says he is the only one. He said if she says there’s no other possibility, he will take another test, but I really don’t know the chances that the test was wrong. Thank you to everyone who sent well wishes, this is still an answer, it’s just not the one I wanted.
