By far the worst labor I ever had. 😭
First off: I had two kids before this one they both were amazing labors. First one was 8 hours & second one was four. Needed to put that in there before I get to my third labor.
Thursday I started to have contractions at mid-night. I was 39 weeks & 5 days. I didn’t want to get my hopes before I already had high hopes to begin with. I was already at l&d the other day. The night goes on and my contractions started to get worse. The hospital I deliver is an hour away. I wanted to wait it to out to see if it’s just “false labor.” My husband works at 6:30am and he gets up at 5:30am. His alarm goes off and I’m still in a lot of pain. He asked me if he should take off work or go in. I told him to go in and if I need you to come home, lll call you. He works about 30 minutes away, so not to bad of a drive. 7:00am comes around and I am still having these contractions. I needed to take my daughter to school but I couldn’t really move. I called her grandmother to see if she can take her. She also took my son with her as well. Around 8:30am I called my husband from work and told me to come home. He got home around 9am and I headed to l&d. We got there around 10am. They took me in a room and checked me. I was 1 to 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced. They told me that they’ll monitor me because my last two deliveries were fast. They took me into an actual delivery room. The nurse asked me all these questions as if I was getting admitted. She told me she has a feeling that I will. I was so excited & so was my husband.
Around 11am-12pm the midwife checked me and I was 4cm dilated. They told me that I was getting admitted. I was so excited. I wanted to meet her so badly. After they admit me, the midwife came in around 3pm to check me and I was still at a 4. I haven’t progressed. The doctor decided to break my water. YAY, I thought because when my water broke with my other two kids I had them super fast. My water is broken and now it’s just a waiting game. Around 7:30pm the midwife comes in and checks & still nothing. I’m not contractions what’s so ever. I’m only cramping. I’m like wtf. She told me that she’s gonna start me on pit. NEVER HAD THAT BEFORE. I was nervous but I just wanted this to be over with.
They got me started on pit, about an hour and half goes by and nothing. She comes in & I asked to move to the rocking chair. Within 10 minutes of rocking “BOOM” the contractions started to hit. I mean hit BIG and STRONGER. With that being said, I had terrible back labor. It was all in my back. They thought she was sunny side up and the midwife made me get on my hands and knees to see if she”ll move. I am in so much pain and I can’t take it anymore. I turned to lay down and the contractions got so much stronger. The midwife came in and checked me & I was 5-6cm dilated. I was so uncomfortable and couldn’t take the pain. I told the lady to check me again & I was 6-7cm dilated. I told the lady that I need to push, so she called the lady in and I was indeed ready to push. The doc wasn’t ready, she was getting her gloves on and she told me if I needed to push, push. I started pushing and within one minute, my baby girl was born @ 1:35am on Friday.
From Thursday mid-night to Friday 1:35am I did it without anything. I had no epidural or anything. It was so painful but it was worth it in the end. ♥️
