I don't think social media directly has ruined self-esteem, but I think comparisons are a catalyst to most low self-esteem issues. Being in advertisement, it sometimes feels cruel what is targeted towards demographics and social media is a popular platform for marketing. We want you to not be happy so we can sell you our products in order to grasp at happiness

These are just platforms that have been turned into a space for anonymous bullying. This is also an excuse for parents (not all, but too many) to use for their lack of parenting. Again let me say that I'm not saying this is all parents out there, just some but some is still way too many.
